Andika font
This font supports over 2,300 characters from the Unicode 7.0 standard as well as a number of Private Use Area (PUA) characters. In total, over 3,800 glyphs are included, supporting stylistic alternates for a number of characters as well as a large number of ligated sequences (e.g., contour tone letters used in phonetic transcription of tonal languages).
A utility such as SIL ViewGlyph can be used to examine the exact repertoire of each font.

Deprecated SIL Corporate PUA characters
Some formerly PUA characters have been added to Unicode, and so have been deprecated in our fonts. Those PUA characters, along with the new Unicode codepoints, are listed on our Deprecated SIL Corporate PUA characters page. Please use the Unicode codepoint instead of the PUA codepoint. As of version 5.000 our SIL Latin, Cyrillic and Greek fonts no longer support these PUA codepoints for backwards compatibility purposes.
Andika New Basic font
The supported character set for Andika New Basic is much smaller than for the main Andika font. The “New Basic” fonts support only the Basic Latin and Latin-1 Supplement Unicode ranges, plus a selection of the more commonly used extended Latin characters, with miscellaneous diacritical marks, symbols and punctuation.
In particular, these fonts do not support:
- Full extended Latin IPA
- Complete support for Central European languages
- Cyrillic
A much more complete character set will be supported in a future version of the complete Andika fonts. The “New Basic” fonts are intended as a way to provide additional weights for basic font users without waiting until the complete Andika character set is finished. So please don’t request additional glyphs or characters to be supported in the New Basic fonts – such support will become available in the main Andika family in the future.
