\nDiagSap can save a diagram as a PNG<\/strong> file, an SVG<\/strong> file, or both.

\nUse File \u25b8 Save tree as .png<\/strong> and\/or Save tree as .svg<\/strong>, and check the formats you want. DiagSap writes one file for each checked format, all sharing the same file name. It also saves a .diagsap<\/strong> file that stores your tree description so you can reopen and edit it later.

\nType the tree as a set of nodes inside parentheses, nesting them to match the tree structure. For example, ((un)(lock))(able)<\/code> describes the word unlockable<\/em>. When you type a closing parenthesis, DiagSap briefly highlights its matching opening parenthesis to help you keep them balanced.

\nType the infix between an opening wedge and a closing wedge \u2014 for example, p<in>ag<\/code>. When you type an opening wedge, DiagSap adds the closing wedge for you.

\n\t\t\t\tHow do I put a real parenthesis or wedge inside a node?\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t

\nPut a backslash immediately before it. A backslash tells DiagSap to treat the next parenthesis or wedge as ordinary text instead of part of the tree structure.

\nChoose Tree \u25b8 Erase Description; Start All Over<\/strong>. DiagSap clears your description and replaces it with the standard starting tree, ((a)(b))<\/code>.

\nYes. Turn on Format \u25b8 Draw tree right-to-left<\/strong> \u2014 useful for languages such as Hebrew.

\n\t\t\t\tCan I set the fonts and colors?\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t

\nYes. Use the Format<\/strong> menu to set the font, size, and color of the lexical forms, plus the background color and the color and thickness of the lines. These settings are saved with each individual diagram, so you can tune every tree to look its best.

\nYes. Use Settings \u25b8 Change the interface language<\/strong>. The current version offers English, some French, and a rough Spanish translation.

\n\t\t\t\tCan I have curved lines or arrows in the diagram?\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t

\nNot within DiagSap. You can, however, save the diagram as an SVG file and open it in a tool like Inkscape<\/a> to add curved lines and arrows.
\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tHow do I get a sharp, high-resolution image for Word or PowerPoint?\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t

\nOnly Office 2016 and later can insert SVG files directly, so for older versions you need a high-resolution PNG. You can make one for free with Inkscape<\/a>:<\/p>\n

  1. In DiagSap, save your diagram in SVG format.<\/li>\n
  2. In Inkscape, use File \u25b8 Open<\/strong> and load that SVG file.<\/li>\n
  3. Use File \u25b8 Export<\/strong> and choose PNG.<\/li>\n
  4. Set the width to a large value (such as 2000 or 5000 pixels).<\/li>\n
  5. Click Export<\/strong>, then insert the PNG into Word or PowerPoint. If it is still not sharp enough, export again at a larger width.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
