Necessary Development Kits
In addition to the Dictionary App Builder (DAB) installation file you will need to download and install the Java and Android development kits. These are used by Dictionary App Builder to compile the apps. The installation instructions, How to Install Dictionary App Builder, include step by step help for installing these development kits. If this is your first time installing DAB it is strongly recommended that you follow those instructions which include screenshots so you know exactly what to download.
Java Development Kit SE – You need version 7 or 8 of the Standard Edition of the Java Development Kit (JDK).
Android Software Development Kit – Get just the command line tools (at the bottom of the page) rather than the full Android Studio.
