Thank You to Wycliffe UK for Funding Scriptoria 2

We are grateful to Wycliffe UK for funding the development of Scriptoria 2. This major update makes Scriptoria faster, easier to use, and more reliable for the teams who manage Scripture apps and other digital publishing projects.

Below is a simple overview of what has improved and what’s coming next.

What’s New in Scriptoria 2

Faster and smoother

  • Long wait times when opening project pages have been removed.

Easier for new users

  • The setup process for new organizations and team members is clearer and simpler.

Improved publishing process

  • The steps involved in preparing and publishing apps now flow more naturally.
  • Scriptoria automatically takes you to the right place when your part of the process is finished.

Modern, user-friendly design

  • Scriptoria now adjusts to light or dark mode based on your device settings.
  • The layout works better on mobile phones and tablets.

Helpful new features

  • Uploading updated files and rebuilding an app is now easier.
  • Scriptoria clearly shows author information when it exists.
  • You can return to your project more easily with improved navigation.
  • Searching for users or projects is faster and more accurate.
  • Your screen updates automatically when important changes happen—no need to refresh.
  • Scriptoria now displays which version of the app-building software was used to create each product.

Better foundation for the future

  • Scriptoria 2 was rebuilt with the same modern technology used for the Scripture PWA apps.
  • This will make ongoing maintenance and adding new features much easier.

What We’re Working on Next

Rebuild older apps with one click

  • Organization leaders will be able to rebuild all outdated apps to match the newest software version.

Automatic publishing

  • Projects will be able to choose an option to publish automatically after rebuilding.

Easier setup for existing apps

  • Scriptoria will soon be able to import information already in the Google Play listing to save setup time.

Better handling of data-privacy requests

  • Scriptoria will help project owners track and respond to user requests related to data deletion, meeting app-store requirements.
