NOTE:

If you have already installed XLingPaper, use the Update Package versions of XLingPaper.

Important license information. Please read before downloading.

XLingPaper depends on the XMLmind XML Editor so you must obtain the XMLmind XML Editor before you can use XLingPaper.

XMLmind offers a very generous Personal Edition License for the XMLmind XML Editor which, if you qualify, means that you can use it for free. If you do not qualify for the Personal Edition License, then you will need to purchase a Professional Edition from XMLmind.

For those of you who are a member of SIL International and are going to use the XMLmind XML Editor program on your own computer, you do qualify to use the Personal Edition. If you are not a member of SIL International, you may well qualify, but be sure to read the XMLmind XML Editor Personal Edition License carefully.

If you do not qualify, please follow these instructions on what to do.

If you qualify for the free Personal Edition of the XMLmind XML Editor, see below for instructions for installing the XMLmind XML Editor along with XLingPaper for your operating system.

NOTE:

Unfortunately, Apple has made it so that we can no longer sign and notarize the version of the XMLmind XML Editor we use. To get around this, we are using an older XLingPaper full installer for macOS that requires you to do some special commands to overcome the signing issues. See the instructions below.

Instructions

  1. Download the dmg file.
  2. Open it.
  3. Double click on the package icon to run the installer.
  4. This opens a special Finder window showing an XLingPaperFullSetupXXEPersoCatalina-3.18.0.pkg file.
  5. In Finder, create a new window (File / New Finder Window).
  6. In that Window, on the left is a list of Favorites and near the bottom are items under Locations. Click on the XlingPaper one under Locations.
  7. Now in the right hand pane, click on the XLingPaperFullSetupXXEPersoCatalina-3.18.0.pkg file.
  8. Click on >> in the upper part of the Finder window.
  9. Choose Action.
  10. Choose Open.
  11. This brings up a warning message dialog. Click on the Open button.
  12. Now you get the XLingPaper full installer. Click on the Continue buttons until it says Install and then click on that Install button.
  13. When it succeeds, close the window.
  14. In Applications, invoke XMLmind.
  15. Use File / Open and navigate to Documents / My_XlingPaper and open the SamplePaper.xml file.
  16. You now can use XLingPaper.
  17. To get the latest version, do this:
    1. Close XMLmind.
    2. Go to https://software.sil.org/xlingpaper/download/config-only/#mac and get the latest update installer. This installer is signed and notarized.
