Annapurna SIL is a Devanagari font family with broad support for the 225+ languages that are written with this beautiful script. Inspired by traditional calligraphc forms, the design is intended to be highly readable, reasonably compact, and visually attractive.

A wealth of alternate character forms used by different language communities are included in Annapurna, along with current technologies to properly display them. This Devanagari font works on all computer platforms: Windows, macOS, and Linux. Also included in the download package you will find WOFF and WOFF2 fonts for use with web pages.

Annapurna is named for the stunning mountain massif of the Himalayas. Its highest peak is over 8,000 meters high, making it the 10th tallest mountain in the world.

What is so special about Annapurna SIL?

This font is designed to work with two advanced font technologies, Graphite and OpenType. To take advantage of the advanced typographic capabilities of this font, you must be using applications that provide an adequate level of support for Graphite or OpenType. These advanced capabilities provide the logic for complex rendering of the Devanagari script and access to the variant character forms used in many languages.

Can I make a web page using this font?

Yes. You can create web pages that request that Annapurna SIL be used to display them. In the download package we provide a WOFF font. See Using SIL Fonts on Web Pages for instructions on using fonts on web pages.
