Text Release Bundles

If you have Paratext 8 or later installed and have a local copy of the Paratext project you plan to record, you’re all set. Otherwise, you will need to create a Glyssen project based on the Scripture data contained in a Text Release Bundle. The most common way to get a bundle that Glyssen can open is to download an existing bundle from the Digital Bible Library (DBL).
Regardless of whether you use a live Paratext project or a Text Release Bundle as the source for your Glyssen project, ensure that the Scripture books to be recorded have been consultant checked. The quality and consistency of the Scripture texts determines how easily and reliably Glyssen will be able to help you turn the text into a recording script. Typically, Scriptures in the DBL have gone through thorough quality checking. For best results, if you are working on a live Paratext project, ensure that:

  1. You have used the Quotation Marks Checklist to review if quote marks are present where they should be in the text.
  2. The Basic Checks for Chapter/Verse Numbers, Markers, and Quotations all pass.
