FLEx Bridge provides the Send/Receive functionality to FieldWorks. It is installed automatically with FieldWorks but it can also be installed separately. Uninstalling FieldWorks does not uninstall FLEx Bridge. FLEx Bridge is built to be backwards compatible so you can install a new version of FLEx Bridge with an older version of FieldWorks to get bugfixes to Send/Receive without updating your installation. Although that’s true, different versions of FLEx Bridge may not allow data to be merged together. In general, it’s best for everyone sharing data to use the same versions of FLEx and FLEx Bridge.
