The Audio Project Manager (APM) development team is pleased to offer the 4.6.0 release of
the Audio Project Manager. This release adds the BOLD workflow, Phrase Back Translation,
Scripture Burrito export and import, publishing to Akuo Spoken Bible (beta), and a new
generation of AI transcription and voice tools. It also brings a much better experience
on phones and tablets and more reliable work offline.

What’s New

We’ve made several updates to improve your experience:

  1. BOLD Workflow: A new workflow for BOLD projects, with Careful Speech, prompt tools,
    language of wider communication (LWC) translation, and clause transcription with
    spell-check. Waveform zoom and segment playback are built in, and BOLD projects use
    “story” in place of “section.” 
  2. Phrase Back Translation: A new Phrase Back Translation step with Guided Phrase
    Record. Each take is tagged with its language, and undo, combine and delete are
    protected while a save is in progress. 
  3. AI Transcription and Voice Conversion: Our AI tools have been upgraded.
    Transcription is scoped to the step’s language, supports sister languages, and uses
    a single Auto Transcription control. Voice conversion uses the sample given with the
    speaker rights to acquire voice quality.
  4. Marking Verses: Verse markings are highlighted, references can be edited with an
    improved wheel picker (including on mobile), and changes save automatically. 
  5. Scripture Burrito Export and Import: You can export and import Scripture Burritos,
    including multi-project burritos. Burritos get a default name based on your team,
    and MP3 audio is supported. 
  6. Publishing to Akuo Spoken Bible (Beta): You can publish to Akuo Spoken Bible. APM
    generates book and movement graphics and title recordings, uses chapter headings for
    sections, and warns you if the Bible ID belongs to another team. 
  7. Copy Project: Exporting and importing a project copy is more reliable, with better
    error messages and retries when the server is slow. 
  8. Compare: Compare handles more edge cases, and Team Check now works on mobile. 
  9. Internalization Resources: Adding resources from Bible Brain, Aquifer, FaithBridge
    and your own general resources is simpler. The “Configure General” button was
    removed in favor of just using the edit pencil next to the general resources.
    Uploads wait until you choose sections, and the resource player no longer wraps. 
  10. Graphic Picker: A new graphic picker lets you set images for titles and notes,
    including built-in note categories, with copyright information. 
  11. Discussion Recording: You can add both text and audio to a discussion comment.
    Audio comments recorded offline upload when you reconnect. 
  12. Recorder Improvements: Large files are handled better, the microphone you choose is
    always used, and your chosen speaker is remembered (including on mobile). Recorded
    segments can no longer be altered by accident. 
  13. Working Offline: Changes made offline are queued and synced when you reconnect. APM
    warns you before you re-record over a pending upload, and you can upload recordings
    while offline. 
  14. Mobile Screens: Recording, the team and project screens, navigation and the
    racetrack have been redesigned for phones and tablets. Mobile now has a loading
    screen and better scrolling. 
  15. Other Improvements: The spreadsheet header stays visible while you scroll, the
    passage audio player is docked, APM reopens to the last page you visited, and the
    APM logo has been redrawn.
