Release Announcement – April 2024

The big feature for Audio Project Manager 3.0.0 release is Incremental publishing. With this feature, Audio Project Manager is connected to a web site and cell phone app that can distribute the content. A new form of navigation was included in the cell phone app that helps people with low levels of biblical literacy to consume the content. Additionally we have added a categorized note system so the user of the app can listen to various kinds of extra information about the published Scripture if they choose.

To support publishing, there is a separate mode. When this mode is active, all the section head titles (as well as movement titles) can be recorded. The book name and a book graphic can be added. An alternate book name is also supported. Each team can create a set of categories for their notes. Normally it is good to keep this list small (7 categories maximum) so it will fit on the screen of the phone. Once the team has some content they would like to publish, the Team Edit dialog will allow for the creation of a BibleId, overall language, and name for the entire publication. Users of the phone app will use this information to find the content. A single note can be inserted in multiple locations when appropriate. Here is a short video illustrating this feature. A major fix helps the program realize when changes are made by one user that need to be seen by the other user and the program is much better about keeping all the users up to date. This combined with a new ability to navigate projects with a lot of sections will improve coordinated work on larger corpuses.

A few smaller changes have also been added. It is possible to view the transcription when it is available. We now allow discussions to be moved to a new step. On the list of audio files, we show which user recorded the file. We have removed the context menu and now show all the menu options on the more menu (Some users were not finding them on the context menu.) The Spanish book names were updated in the localization.

The language chooser was updated with the latest language information and updated fonts. This may require editing the language name and choosing it again so the font name is updated to use the latest one.
